HGR just inventoried a few different items manufactured by Kira Corporation. These items include tapping centers and vertical machining centers, which are items HGR frequently stocks, even if Kira Corp. isn’t one of the brands we often see. To provide a little insight, we wanted to look at who Kira Corp is as a company and a little of its history. Kira Corporation has been in the business of manufacturing for more than 80 years and is based in Japan. Kira Corporation is a machine tool company and their products range from CNC machining centers, to high speed drilling and tapping machines and drilling machines. Kira’s contribution to manufacturing has had as its central focus serving the automotive industry. Kira has provided engineered manufacturing solutions to customers by designing and building complete manufacturing systems using their Kira CNC production centers as the platform for these systems.
One of the products that HGR currently has is a Kira PC-30W Tapping Center in used condition. This unit comes with a Fanuc Series Oi-md Control, chip conveyor, hydraulic unit, chiller, platform, and a 21 position tool changer. PC-30W achieves precision curved surface and smooth surface finish for medical, aerospace, electrical, watches, jewels, and glasses. Its direct drive and temperature controlled 15,000rpm, 20,000rpm, or 36,000rpm spindles provide state of the art performance on large or very small parts it can drill small holes as small as 0.1mm(0.004”) in diameter.
Another item is a Kira Kdm43vcd CNC Vertical Machining Center. Vertical machining occurs on a vertical machining center (VMC), which employs a spindle with a vertical orientation. With a vertically oriented spindle, tools stick straight down from the tool holder, and often cut across the top of a work piece. The one currently in stock at HGR has a Fanuc Series Oi-md Control, Chip Conveyor, Pallet Changer , W/tombstone, and a 40 Position Tool Changer.
